Peninah, Blick vow not to appear before Ddungu’s tribunal

Peninah Kabenge and William Blick are yet to be invited to the Uganda Olympic Committee (UOC) tribunal that starts work today in Lugogo. The two had gone ahead and told kawowo sports they won’t be attending the tribunal that has not been sanctioned by UOC. “If it was a UOC tribunal I would attend but that’s a Ddungu tribunal,” Kabenge said.

“They haven’t even invited us and I don’t think they will,” she added. Blick agreed with Kabenge calling the

whole situation a conflict of interest from the UOC boss. “We have never got formal complaints from Ddungu apart from the verbal one in the AGM in Gulu,” Blick said.

Ddungu accuses Kabenge of forging his signature to get nominated for an international award while he also claims Blick called an executive meeting in his absence. “I can only attend if am mandated by the executive meeting or AGM.”

“How can he (Ddungu) appoint a tribunal yet it’s him accusing Peninah and me?” asked Blick. The tribunal to be chaired by former judge, Prof George W Kanyeihamba also has Col Stephen Kwerijira as its secretary with lawyer Peruth Nshemereirwe. “We are not answerable to Kanyeihamba, we didn’t appoint him,” Blick added.

The UOC executive has fallen out with Ddungu after the former has taken matters upon himself to violate the constitution according to Kabenge. “It’s bullshit because he (Ddungu) is not following the constitution, just doing everything to prove his might,” she said.
