Zawedde shines at woodball beach event

Reigning USPA female woodballer, Lillian Zawedde (Ndejje University) had a remarkable performance after poising 19 points from her 47 strokes in the women’s singles at the second beach woodball circuit held at Sports beach on Sunday.

Zawedde later teamed up with teammate, Abdallah Ddungu to win the mixed doubles by 31 strokes and 10 points. Jerry Wabuyu, who won the men’s singles in the first circuit finished third, behind fellow Ndejje University co-players, Israel Muwanguzi and Israel

Steven Kityo. Wabuyu and Zawedde still top the women’s and men’s point tables with 51 and 88 points in turn.

“The tournament was a success and the level of the sport is rising” said John Baptist Kateregga, the Uganda Woodball Federation official.
Ndejje woodball club, Nkumba University, MUBS, St. Aloysius S.S.S Nabbingo and a couple of corporate individuals also took part in this beach woodball point rankings event.
