
KCB Bank and Dimension Data have given a shot in the arm too Uganda’s two franchise teams, Rwenzori and Victoria with a sponsorship of 40 million Uganda shillings ahead of the Bamburi Rugby Super Series that kicks-off in Kampala and Nairobi this Saturday.
For the first time Uganda’s teams have been provided with such a record sponsporship KCB will
provide 20 million for team Victoria while Dimension Data will provide the same amount of money for team Rwenzori.
The sponsorship was unveiled at Kampala rugby club by Matthew Koech, the managing director of UAP Insurance.
“Our company is has a proud heritage of supporting development of sports locally and is the reason they are boosting the team.”
Other co-sponsors include AON, UAP insurance,G4S,IAA and Citi bank who are to provide support to the teams at various levels.
The 2012 Bamburi Rugby Super Series,commences on Saturday with Dimension Data Rwenzori taking on Kenya Buffaloes at the Kampala Rugby Club. The series will run over five consecutive weekends starting on Saturday and concluding on June 2.
The teams will be divided into two pools of four.Each team will play three matches against the other teams in their respective pools on a home and away basis over the first three matches.
