Professional boxing gears up for Independence celebrations

As Uganda marks 50 years of independence Baltic Pro Boxing Promotions has led the way for sports with various boxing events. First on the calendar is the return of the champions’ challenge that is scheduled for May 27 at Sabrinas pub in Kampala. Charles Muwanga will lock horns with Kenyan Joseph Ayeko in the Heavyweight category as Baltic embarks on also promoting heavy weight boxing which has been on the rocks in the past decade or so.

Baltic operations manager Ahmed Ssentogo told kawowosports about their plans as a promotions company. “We are trying to make sure that professional boxing gets the attention it deserves in Uganda,” said Ssentogo. In welterweight Swedish based Michael Obin will confront Patrick Ssentogo in one of the undercards. Richard Ndifuna and Mustafa Mongolia have unfinished Business as the former won their last fight.

The latter asked for a rematch and they will meet again to determine who is who in the lightweight division. Just fresh in the paid ranks, Sebastian “Munamasaka” Mukasa will gauge himself with Isma Sekito also in the light weight division. Tough talking boxers Tony Kalule and Raymond Ssetongo will leave nothing to chance in the Bantamweight.
