URA were crowned champions of the Bell Uganda Cup on their fourth attempt after they edged Bunamwaya 1-0. The all important strike was struck by Robert Ssentogo in the forth minute when his thunderous strike found the back of the net. A game that Edward Golola’s Bunamwaya failed to find their ground especially under pressure as URA controlled proceedings.
Flanks Godfrey Walusimbi and Nicholas Wadada were timid going forward as Ssentogo and Said Kyeyune took the game to them. Edward Ssali and Ronald Seku always showed signs of a struggling pair as they fumbled to tame Feni Ali and Peter Ssenyonjo. Bunnamwaya had little to offer as their presence in front of goal was never felt. After good buildup plays Golola’s men didn’t concentrate where it mattered most as URA missed chance after chance.
URA coach Alex Isabirye instructed his lads to play the high balls as a way of denying Bunnamwaya to play their free flowing football. And it worked as the latter struggled with the URA aerial ball possession. Apart from URA holding onto the lead, the game got another scare when Bunnamwaya midfielder Murushid Juuko broke both bones in his right hand minutes after coming on for Martin Muwanga.
The only time Bunamwaya imposed themselves on URA FC was in the final ten minutes but URA kept them at bay. URA have their second title on four attempts, as for Bunnamwaya, their Maiden title wasn’t the dream they though it would be.
