Farouk Kisuze, the president of Pool Association of Uganda (PAU) cared less about the Shs500m that Nile Special has sunk in this year’s national Pool table open tournament.

He became the centre of negative attraction at the launch at Lugogo yesterday.

After making journalists and sponsors wait close to two hours, Kisuze and his executive walked in the Lugogo sports complex and hijacked the press conference Timothy Kayondo (Nile’s brand manager) was addressing.

“We are postponing this launch, because we are still solving a few issues with the sponsors,” Kisuze said.

“Am the spokesperson of the federation, CEO at the same time and the president,” he added neglecting his executive.

PAU vice president Moses Muhwezi intervened, disagreeing with what Kisuze was saying.

“Whatever has been said was a personal decision, not of the executive and we are ready to continue with the launch.”

“Please we beg you, don’t be disappointed with the way the president has behaved because he doesn’t run this association personally,” added Muhwezi.

Muhwezi revealed to the media present how they would love to have equal rights in the running of the championships as they are the people who govern the sport.

“We want to have a hand in technical issues as the sponsors manage the event,” he added.

The three month country wide tournament starts on May 25 in Nakawa and will go up to August 25 with a grand finale at the MTN arena in Lugogo.
