Defending Champions URA FC will now shift focus to retaining their league title after winning the Bell Uganda Cup on Saturday but will have to negotiate lots of hurdles before the triumph beginning with a tie against Proline FC on Tuesday at Nakivubo Stadium. The tax collectors sit on top of the 16 team log with 47 points with seven fixtures to go.
However they face a tricky Proline side that is expected to be a hard nut to crack. Abdallah Mubiru’s side has won their last four fixtures in the league and currently holds the longest winning streak in the league. The rise in form has seen the club rise to fourth on the table with 42 points and just five less than URA FC which tops the standings.
U-20 international William Kadogo Wadri and Anthony Bongole will lead the hunt for goals with Abubaker Tabula completing the attacking trio. Apollo Razak and Paddy Muhumuzza may continue to patrol the midfield as Wulube Lopidia is still out injured.
At URA FC, Coach Alex Isabirye is expected to miss the services of Vincent Kayizzi, defender Sam Mubiru and skipper Manko Kawesa. The trio also missed the Cup final against Bunamwaya on Saturday. Oscar Agaba is expected to continue deputisng for Manko in midfield to partner Said Kyeyune who had a brilliant game in the Uganda Cup finals.
League leading scorer Robert Ssentongo will lead the forward line. Augustine Nsumba who didn’t feature in the finals may start ahead of Benson Ociti who didn’t impress in the win over Bunamwaya SC. Peter Ssenyonjo may also dropped for Hamis Kitagenda in the starting line up. The reverse fixture ended 2-2 with Proline scoring late in the game through Gift Ali.
