It was joy and merry making at the Red Bull Arena in Salzburg last night as Ibrahim Sekagya together with his team-mates steered their club Red Bull Salzburg to the 100 Bundesliga title as it was the club’s seventh title as they seek a historic double this season.
The new champions where declared champions after a 2-0 win over Trenkwalder Admira handing them the coverted golden plate with a game in hand. Sekagya, who has played an integral part to his club’s campaign dedicated this feat to his late mother, who he lost last year.
“I dedicate this to you mum miss you” was what was inscribed to a vest he wore inside his jersey. Salzburg, will return to next season to campaign in the UEFA champions league however they will have to play in qualifiers before entering the group stages.
Salzburg, has 18 games and scored 58 goals in 35 games enroute to their seventh Bundesliga crown. This Sunday Salzburg will play Ried in the OFB Samsung Cup in their final season game.
