Hoima-Busia 2-1 Maroons FC
Hoima-Busia stunned visiting Maroons FC with a 2-1 win in a league tie played at Bugembe stadium yesterday evening. Mugabi Martin and Isiko’s laye strike sunk Asaph Mwebaze’s determined Maroons FC side completing a double over the Prisons team this season. Peter Oguttu’s side also won the reverse fixture 3-2 in Luzira in what was their opening fixture in the league this season.
Mugabi Martin gave the league’s latest entrants a deserved lead but Micheal Kawooya’s own goal meant the two sides ended the first 45 minutes level. Second half began on a high as both teams tried to look for a winner but both sides wasted whatever opportunities fell to them. However, as the game appeared to be headed for a draw, danger man Isiko Ayub who has been out standing for the side put the ball at the back of the net for a winner. The win is Hoima-Busia’s fifth in the league and puts them level with Fire Masters on 21 points and their chances of surviving the drop have been boasted after Police FC and Bidco FC settled for a draw.
