Derrick Akuwa and Godfrey Mandela’s goals helped Wanaichi hockey club beat hosts Weatherhead 2-0 to win this year’s men’s Weatherhead Open title at Lugogo Hockey Astroturf on Sunday. Mandela emerged top scorer with three goals in the event that had attracted four sides.
In the foursome women’s category, hosts Weatherhead A beat Kampala 2-0 in the final with goals from tournament’s best player, Aisha Kagere and Vivian Kigozi.
