Bunnamwaya Express blunder with the league at stake

Bunamwaya SC left Wankulukuku stadium wondering what it will take for the Buikwe side to win their second league title in a space of three years after drawing 1-1 with Express, another title contender. Edward Golola’s side still missed custodian Hamza Muwonge and left back Godfrey Walusimbi, but juggled his available resources.
Which included Joseph Ssebuliba and Medi Muwonge who replaced the two respectively. It was the hosts who drew first blood in the seventh minute when a Willy Kavuma free kick almost found the back net but Sebuliba and company recovered in time. On the 19th, Express had reason to smile when Elias Sekisambu found Yayo Lutimba whose endeavor was ruled out for offside.

The decision didn’t go well with Express’s fans and it had to take the intervention of Coach Sam Simbwa and club legend Godfrey Nyola to calm them down after four minutes. At the half hour mark, Footballer of the year Nominee Kizito Luwanga broke through after being set up by Balinya Juma. He found himself with only Jamal Salim to be and looped him to silence express fans.

Express were to reply through Julius Ogwang eight minutes later when he loosely tapped the ball which beat advancing Sebuliba. Both sides went for the winning goal in second half but lacked the cutting edge until 76 minutes. Across by Joseph Mpadde from the left found substitute Edgar Luzige who placed it with his weaker right foot in the empty net but was cleared off the line Lutimba. Also right fullback Nicholas Wadada would have scored his first for the club, but his long ball from his own half hit the wood in the final stages of the game.
