If anyone had hopes of seeing veteran player, Allan Musoke in competitve action at rugby club, then find something else to think of. The flamboyant winger finally threw in the towel after his side, the Barbarians lost to the England Counties 66-13 at Kyadondo ground on Tuesday. Musoke, who did well on the day had not spared a thought for a poor result to crown his one and half decade career.

“I was shocked, didnot expect it to end this way” he added. Of course, such decisions come after a striking force behind someone. Busy work schedule is part of the reasons why he took the decision. Musoke enjoyed success both at club and national team. He was part of the team that beat Madagascar to win the CAR Africa Cup in Antananarivo in 2007.

He was at his peak as Kobs took a league treble just before the MTN Heathens have swept in the past four editions. Robert Seguya, another veteran in Ugandan rugby feels Musoke left the sport a bit early. “I think he had more years ahead in rugby” Seguya said. Musoke, together with Seguya were selected to the Africa Leopards team last decade and seemingly did well at the stage. “I will continue serving Ugandan rugby” Musoke added. Musoke has been doing some PR work with Uganda Rugby Union recently.
