Cranes Coach Bobby Williamson has today dropped seven players from the squad set to play Senegal in the 2014 World Cup qualifier this Saturday at Mandela national stadium, Namboole.
This means the scot retains only 25 players from which he will pick his 18 man match day squad to face the 2002 World Cup quarter finalists. Of the squad that travelled to Luanda in the opener of the Cranes campaign, only Netherlands based young star Fabian Derrick Kizito has been dropped. Ethiopian based defender Isaac Isinde misses out due to injury.
Good news is the fact that Cyprus based forward Geoffrey Massa may be available for the tie after missing the trip to Luanda after he sustained an injury and Musa Mudde is also expected to be fit come Saturday. The dropped seven players however remain part of Bobby’s plans for the Congo Brazzaville according to Williamson.
In a related development, Fufa president Lawrence Mulindwa has today paid a courtesy to the Cranes at Namboole and offered Shs 1m to each of the players that made the Luanda trip and Shs 0.5m to those that stayed behind. Skipper Andrew Mwesigwa recieved the token on behalf of the players.
