Ugandan hooker, Alex Mubiru will captain the Elgon Warriors, a select side of Ugandan and Kenyan players from the Bamburi Rugby Super Series when they take on the England counties on Saturday at Kyadondo and at the Rugby Football Union of East Africa grounds, Nairobi on June 16th.Mubiru captained the Heathens to their fourth
consecutive league trophy early this year.
He will lead a 23-man side that has close to 13 Kenyans.But the side will miss Ugandan flanker, Matthias Ochwo who ended Kenya’s Elgon Cup dominance this year. He is out with a shoulder injury.
The side will have the region’s cream in Lawrence Buyachi, Eden Agero, Steven Ogwete, Tony Mutai and Dennis Muhanji. The latter three scored five tries apiece and featured in the final of the tenth Bamburi rugby edition.
