Express FC ended sixteen year’s of waiting to claim the Bell Uganda Super League with a clinical 2-1 win over Jinja based Bidco FC in a title decider at Mandela stadium this afternoon infront of their excited fans.
A Yayo Lutimba brace was just enough to give the Red Eagles their first title in 16 years with the utility player putting the new champions in front in the tenth minute converting from the spot after Erisa Sekisambu was felled in the
penalty box. He was again on the mark converting a free-kick in the 50th minute to seal the victory.
Bidco pulled one back from Herbert Odipio in the 74th minute to bring back some nervous moments in the stands, but late news filtered through to the stadium of the other result in

Serbian Dragan Popadic, was the last coach to help the Red Eagles win the league title in 1996.
It was the sixth league title for the crowd pulling side having previously won the league in 1974,1975,1993,1996 and now 2011/2012.
The Bell Uganda Super League ended on a high after going through some turbulent moments in the course of the season.
