Titus ‘Hard Rock’ Tugume has admitted it would be painful if he fails to win his national kickboxing title rematch against Malik ‘The Hit Man’ on July 13 in Kampala. Tugume has the chance to restamp his mark on the local scene as a kick boxer by registering a win against Kaliisa in his only second professional fight at the Lugogo Indoor Stadium.
He is strong-minded about winning some titles and would love to be a number one kicker boxer in the next two years.
“Everyone has goals in life and mine are to be the most fierce kick boxer under the sun in the two years,” said Tugume. The UPDF soldier also believes that it’s especially important to come out on top against Malik as they compete for a local title.
“We are both fighters but am sure by far am the better fighter,” Tugume said. “I have to make sure I put this fight out of the way as I focus on the intercontinental title and wait for a world title shot to be sanctioned,” he added. Tugume has shown his versatility in the past one, two years especially in the amateur ranks but admits it’s the joy to hold a world title that drives him on.
“I’ve done this since I was a boy and I’m energetic at the moment. The dream is still exploding, am still unbeaten and it’s going to stay that way for a long time,” said Tugume. “I would love to have it round my waste someday, and its competitive fights that will make me raise my game,” he added. With the kind of training he is under Tugume sees himself in the in the long term as an undefeated world champion.
