Ugandan sprinter Ali Ngaimoko will opt to run for Olympic qualification first before a medal is table the Africa Senior Athletics Championships in Porto Novo, Benin tomorrow.
Ngaimoko will be the first of the 12-man team to step on the track in the 400m heats.
The Police constable is also set to go for the 200m on Saturday.
He won the event at the recently concluded National Athletics Championships at Makerere grounds. He ran 12.3s
Ngaimoko was part of the team that took part in the athletics meet in Khartoum early this month.
He is currently the country’s top male sprinter and he needs to run 45.9 to make it to London for the 400m.
Already 16 others have qualified for the quadrannieal games, which are just a month away.
