Yasin Mugabi

In a bid to strengthen the side, Bell Uganda Cup Champions URA FC is on the brink of acquiring the signature of custodian Yasin Mugabi from Proline FC.

The former SC Villa keeper has had a fantastic season at Proline FC something that even earned him a national team summon.

Mugabi’s fine season that saw him being nominated in the Bell Uganda Super League Goal Keeper of the year category has

caught the attention of URA FC.

The Cranes international is already training with the Lugazi based side at their Gayaza training ground ahead of the upcoming Cecafa club championship to be held in Dar es Salam, Tanzania next month where it will represent Uganda.

Alex Isabirye’s side has already confirmed the capture of Yayo Lutimba, Erias Ssekisambu from Express FC and Eurukana Nkugwa from SC Villa.

Unconfirmed reports from URA FC indicate that the former Villa goalie has penned a two and half years contract with the club. It’s however understood that Mugabi still has a year left on his contract with Proline FC though reports from the club show they are aware of the transfer. Efforts to speak to Proline FC director Mujib Kasule about the issue were futile as he couldn’t pick his phone. As usual, Kawowo sports will keep you posted.
