The Lady Cranes will head into the Reunion 7’s invitational tournament tomorrow with high confidence levels after finishing their two warm up games unscathed on Wednesday.
The side defeated the University of Pretoria (Tukkies from South Africa) 31-17 with tries from Helen Buteme (two), Asha Nakityo, assistant captain Brenda Kayiyi and Claire Anena. Buteme added three conversions.
Nakityo, the reigning Uspa female rugby player of the year scored two tries while Buteme added another with two conversions in a 19-00 triumph over the French U-20 side.
Coach Anthony Kinene’s players had a third training session yesterday morning and will step onto the pitch at Stade de la Redoute in Saint-Denis bring crown.
They are staying at the village de Corail in St Gilles.
