With Moses Kipsiro and other athletes faltering, Annet Negesa will step onto the Charles de Gaulle tartan track as top prospect for gold.
She will run the 800m, a race where she won gold in Maputo at the All Africa Games.
Negesa, who looks calm and relaxed has nothing to worry about except finishing among the top three.
The reigning Uspa female athlete of the year finished didnot make it at the World Athletics Championships in Daegu last August but with Caster Semenya in the fray, she will have to pull up her socks.
Negesa qualified for the London games after finishing third at the Hengelo meet last month.
She qualified under the Olympic Standard % time. Negesa is a double gold medalist at the Gaborone Africa Youth Championships.
