Ponsiano Lwakataka

Two time National Rally Champion (NRC) Ponsiano Lwakataka may have lost morale, fans and his career neared an end.

It all happened after Boxing day rally in Mukono organised by Southern Motor Club, where he is chairman and he survived death by a whisker.

Lwakataka was beaten by a mob and he received threats over issues to do with gate collections.

And now with an

aim to revamp his career, Lwakataka has assured fans to back him when he prepares to take part in this year’s Shell Pearl of Africa Rally due July July 13-15 in Kampala.

“I assure all my fans to come and support me as i win this year’s edition” Lwakataka said.

“I forgave all the fans who hurt me last year” he added.

Over 40 drivers are expected to take part in the event which is fifth on the Africa Rally Championship calendar.

Red Cross, Silver Springs Hotel Bugolobi and Fire Masters have already come on board to sponsor the event.
