We're lucky to face familiar opponents - Godfrey Walusimbi

Uganda Cranes international left back Godfrey Walusimbi has reacted to the 2013 Afcon final round draw that pits Uganda against reigning champions Zambia citing the familiarity of the opponent as something that boosts the confidence of the Cranes. “Am happy with the draw to be sincere. We’ve on many occassions played against Zambia in CECAFA something that boosts our confidence since we’ll be tussling it out against a familiar opponent”, said Walusimbi before insisting that as players, they are ready for the big task though he knows it won’t be easy.

The Cranes were drawn to play Zambia in a draw held last night in Johannesburg. Zambia hosts the first leg in Lusaka between 7-9 September before the Cranes host the second leg on the weekend of 12-14 October. The Cranes humiliated Congo Brazzaville with a 4-0 score line at Namboole last month overturning a 1-3 first leg loss in Point Noir to qualify for this stage on a 5-3 aggregate with the Bunamwaya SC full back on the score sheet converting from the spot in the second half after a foul on Brian Umony.
