Boxing great and president of Golden boy promotions Oscar De La Hoya, has hinted on a world title for undefeated North American Boxing Organisation lightweight champion Sharif “The Lion”Bogere.
De La Hoya made the hint while replying a twit on the Uganda boxer’s twitter page “I love being apart of @GoldenBoyBoxing family@OscarDelaHoya. The Golden boy president replied you are next my man.
Bogere is on a brink of landing a world title shot in his 135 pound division he is currently ranked number 11 by the World Boxing Council. He is also ranked number two by the World Boxing Organisation of which the current title he holds falls directly in this body.
Talk doing rounds in the boxing corridors is that the stylish hard hitting prize fighter could land a title shot against Great Britain’s Ricky Burns, the WBO lightweight champion later this year.
He is the second Ugandan boxer to be promoted by highly reputed Golden Boy Promotions the other being former IBFlight middleweight champion Kassim “The Dream”Ouma.
The Las Vegas based Bogere is (23-0,15 KOs).
