Lagat sends out warning

USA’s Bernard Lagat will feature in men’s 5000m where three of the 16 London Olympic bound athletes Moses Kipsiro, Abraham Kiplimo and Geofrey Kusuro are set to take part. And not overlooking Great Britain’s Mo Farah who just beat Kipsiro to the finish line on Friday night at the London Samsung Diamond League Meet.

Lagat, a silver medalist at the World Athletics Championships in Berlin three years ago has warned that he will crush Farah’s dreams of shinning in his own back yard, a message that wholly touches our trio. Farah, who won gold in Daegu last August is one of the biggest gold medal hopes that are expected to rise to the occassion at the Stratford Olympic park at the 19 day tourney.

Kipsiro is Uganda’s biggest hope and all eyes from home will be on him as he goes for the 12 and a half laps. Kipsiro, the national recorder was beaten by Kenyan Edwin Cheruyiot Soi to finish fourth in Beijing four years ago. Soi is among the 43 athletes who will run in London.
