Nakivubo War Memorial Stadium is the place to be this afternoon when Ssabasajja Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II officially opens this year’s edition of Bikka football tournament. The competition that pits Buganda’s clans against each other in football will see Nkima clan take on Ngeye in the opener of this year’s edition. Ngeye Coach Matia Lule will miss the services of midfielder Owen Kasule who is away with URA FC in Dar es Salam for Cecafa Kagame championship but will rely Hoima-Busia’s Micheal, Kiyovu’s Jjingo Ibrahim, Victors FC’s Sulaimani Jjingo Kawooya and Bidco FC’s Bast Kawooya in goal.
Nkima, coached by Proline FC assistant Coach Shafik Bisaso will also be without URA FC forward Robert Ssentongo, Yasin Mugabi and Derrick Walulya but will rely on Simba SC’s Geofrey Ssentongo, KCC FC’s Andy Ssali and Bunamwaya’s Edward Ssali. This year’s edition comprises of 42 clans and Mamba is the defending champions and the record holders of the shield. Nkima have managed to win the shield three times while Ngeye have won it two times. Entrance is free to students in school uniform.
