Charity Trust Fund cricket club chased down an 87 run target to defeat a struggling Challengers by 8 wickets in a 50-over Multiple Industries Cricket league duel at the University Oval in Kyambogo on Sunday.
Charity skipper Jonathan Sebanja opted to bowl after winning the toss and his side bundled out their opponents at 86 runs with Robin Turinawe (16) and Daniel Ruyange (11) reaching double figures.
Simon Ssesaazi (3/14) and Ssebanja (3/22) snared three wickets apiece.
Shama Mukaaya’s 33 and Ssesaazi’s unbeaten 20 runs ensured that side shoved off defeat to reach 87 runs.
Challengers’ Fahad Sadiq picked bowling figures of 1/10.
The win ensured Charity cemented themelves on fourth slot with Patidar Samaj, Wanderers and Tornado still above them on the log.
“We can win as long as we have the right mind sets” Sebanja said.
