SC Villa’s goal keeper of the year 2010/11 has renewed his contract with the club after he signed a two year deal that will keep him at the club till 2014. The highly rated young custodian is a product of Jogoo Young and has never played for any other club apart from SC Villa.
The goalie has however failed to make the Number one shirt his own but made lots of appearances for the club last season putting up brilliant performances that saw him almost relegate first choices Frank Mulindwa Muwonge and Benjamin Ochan to the bench in the
season’s closing stages.
SC Villa’s director of football Joseph Kanaba confirmed the news. “It’s true Sulait Luyima renewed his contract with the club. The technical team highly rates him and we feel he will serve the club deligently like he has done in the past in the two years he signed”, Kanaba told Kawowo Sports. Luyima is one of the players SC Villa fans have respect for after he never joined the strike that saw most of the players quit the team in 2010 for alleged non payments.
Speaking to Kawowo Sports, Luyima was delighted to have extended his stay at the club he calls home and vowed to fight for a constant starting berth in the team. “Villa is like home to me and am glad the management and technical team still want me at the club.
Am ready to fight for the number one position on the team to repay their faith in me”, he said. Meanwhile, the Villa Park side also acquired five players on Wednesday afternoon.
The five are Allan Kizza from Utoda FC, David Kalanda from Kyambogo University, Mohammad Abdallah from Victors FC and the duo of Hashim Kakaire and Constantine Nalumoso from Hoima-Busia FC.
