Newly crowned Onito Memorial golf tournament winner Lawrence Muhenda, believes he is set for a leap into the professional game in golf.
“I honoured to have claimed the Onito memorial tournament and I am looking forward to testing the professional game when the Uganda Open is held this year,” Muhenda stressed after claiming his maiden Onito Memorial tournament last Sunday.
“I believe I have the ability now to play as a professional and I am looking forward to move up to that stage.”
Muhenda, 20 beat his younger sibling Adolf Muhumuza and claimed one of the most sought after tournament’s on the Uganda Golf Union calendar, the Castle Lite sponsored Onito Memorial golf tournament.
It was second time that golfers from Toro golf club where dominating this challenging nine hole Jinja golf course with his younger sibling Muhumuza winning the Eskom Open in June.
Enroute to his win he beat a str ong field of golfers from Entebbe,Jinja,Lugazi,Kampala,Toro,Tororo,Mbarara and Kitale,Kenya.
