Undefeated lightweight boxer Sharif “The Lion” Bogere is in talks with Cuban puglist Richard Abril to fight for the vacant World Boxing Association lightweight title on October 13 at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, Nevada.

According to reputable boxing website www.boxingscene.com the two camps are in talks to strike a deal to fight for the vacant WBA lightweight title in October in Las Vegas. If the deal goes through it will become a ShowTime televised opener for Golden Boy’s card on October 13.

WBA rate Bogere at number four in their latest rankings in the 135 pound division while Abril is rated number one and is the WBA lightweight international champion.

The NABO lightweight champion is (25-0,15 KOs) while Abril is (17-3-1,8 KOs). Golden Boy promotion’s Oscar De La Hoya, promised to land the Ugandan hot property a world title soon and now its just a matter of  time now.
