Charles Tibingana

Rwanda’s U-20 international Charles Tibingana finally completed a move to newly promoted Victoria University Thursday after agreeing personal terms and passing a medical test.

We had reported earlier how Proline Soccer Academy director Mujib Kasule had confirmed his sale to the newly promoted but it was all subject to the player passing a medical and then reaching an agreement on personal

terms.

“I feel good about my new life now with SCVU. The level of professionalism at this club is great and I am looking forward to playing my first game,” he told the club’s official website immediately after his medical at Victoria University Health Centre.

“The club has experienced players and I know we shall perform. Everyone is willing to work. The club will do well in the league.” Tibingana added. Tibingana featured in most of Proline FC’s games last season and netted five goals with his high light being the hat trick against Utoda FC.

The right sided midfielder joins a list of new acquisitions at the club that include Manko Kawesa from URA FC, Ali Kimera (Victors FC), Saddam Juma (Sai Gon), Martin Mpuga and George Abege (Maroons FC).

Meanwhile, the club offered trials to several players including the Brazilian duo of Douglas Lopes and Diego Oliviera, former SC Villa right back Godfrey Katerega and Ronald Kamajje. The later though left on Sunday and won’t be considered.

On Katerega, club manger Ivan Zoric said; “Katerega is an experienced player. He has played in Rwanda. We shall try to double that position but it will take a while. We already have a player in our plans though. Let us wait and see how it goes.”
