Each of the six sides will tighten the grip when the second edition of the 50-over East Africa Elite Cricket Cup heads to its third week of action at three different ovals in Uganda and Kenya tomorrow morning. After defeating the Kanbis Tigers by 78 runs at the Nairobi Gymkhana oval seven days back, Ugandan franchise side Knights hope to replicate their fighting spirit when they play bottom side Kongonis (0) at the lake side oval in Entebbe.
Steve Tikolo’s Warriors, the other Ugandan side that has set the pace in both 50-over and T20 versions will play Coast Pekee at the University Oval in Kyambogo. “We are taking every game seriously and the team is focused,” Warriors’ skipper Lawrence Sematimba said.
Warriors, atop on eight points will take on their opponents in the perfect frame having bundled Knights and the Rift Valley Rhinos by four and six wickets. Elsewhere, the battle for top flight cricket continues with SVPC taking on SKLPS B at Budo grounds while JACC entertain Tamil Lions at Jinja SS oval in another Multiple Industries’ Division II tie.
