Sports scribes body Uganda Sports Press Association has received a 5 million sponsorship boost from City Tyres ahead of their annual road safety week this Saturday.
This year’s activities will for the first time be held at Busega round about shifting from Lugazi town where it has been held for the last ten year’s.
Leading tyre dealer and distributer City Tyres who have been partners with USPA for the last five year’s handed their contribution at a brief ceremony held at their head office on sixth street Industrial area
The annual event is held to remember fallen scribes Kenneth Andrew Matovu,Francis Batte Junior,Leo Kabunga and Simon Peter Ekarot, who died in a motor accident in Lugazi after returning from USPA duties in Jinja in 2001.
This year’s theme is “Yield the Right Way” the scribes will also engage in a football dual with City Tyres administrators,cycling, marching and painting on the Zebra crossings.
