RB Salzburg 1-1 Neustadt
Despite dominating proceedings, the Red Bulls slipped were held to 1-all draw by opponents Wiener Neustadt in their sixth game of the Austrian Bundesliga at the Red Bull Arena on Saturday.
The hosts conceded on 33 minutes courtesy of a volley from Peter Hilnka but quickly brought a silence to the visitors’ chants with a goal from 19-year-old Nowergian Valon Berisha in the next minute.
They failed to press on and get another goal though and the visitors had the better chances in an even second half. Salzburg dropped to fourth with 11 points while Neusadt moved to four points.
“We did not complete our attacks, and we are missing our recent goal threat. Wiener Neustadt defended well, and put in a good showing,” Roger Schmidt, Salzburg coach told the club’s official website.
“Our development is clearly taking longer than I expected. But I remain optimistic and we will keep on working hard.” he added.
