Herman Wasswa Villa Jogoo

SC Villa may be without striker Herman Wasswa for the opening games of the season after the striker suffered an arm injury in a pre-season friendly game against first division side Victoria Football Club. The former Masaka LC FC hit man has gone on to miss the team’s training sessions since then and it is feared he may not be available for the league start.

Speaking to Kawowo Sports, Wasswa said that he

feels a lot of pain though his recovery is progressing well. “It pains me a lot and i can’t train at the moment. I miss playing football but i am recovering well”, Wasswa said. Wasswa was very instrumental for SC Villa last season scoring 9 goals (2 were deducted though) and made over six assists.

He finished as the club’s second top scorer behind Moses Ndaula in his debut season with the Villa Park side after joining the side from Masaka LC. The forward has missed pre-season games that include a 2-1 win over Water FC , a 2-1 loss to Maroons FC and Wednesday’s barren draw with new super league boys Kiira Young FC. Meanwhile SC Villa’s next pre-season outing is against big spenders SC Victoria University on Friday at Mandela Stadium, Namboole.
