Zambian Coach Herve Renard may be without first choice central defender Stophilla Sunzu when the African champions meet Uganda Cranes in the first leg of the final round of the 2013 AFCON qualifiers on September 8th at the Levy Mwanawasa stadium in Ndola.

The injury kept him out of the Congolese club friendly against Red Arrows of Zambia at Kibassa Malibu stadium which Mazembe lost 1-0 escalating fears that he may not be available for the highly anticipated clash with Uganda and the champions league return leg tie against Al Ahly over the weekend.
He is however confident he will beat time to be fit for all games as quoted by the club’s official website. “I am working hard to be fit for both this Saturday’s game against Ah Ahly and the qualifier against Uganda a week a later”, he said.
“We just have to be in South Africa to defend our title. It will be difficult against Uganda. They are strong a team and we shouldn’t under rate them”, he added.Meanwhile, the team has been boosted by the return to full fitness of skipper Christopher Katongo.
The police officer featured for 90 minutes for his Chinese club Henan Jianye against Jiangu Sainty after missing the international friendly against South Korea a fortnight ago.
