
There wasn’t much for the reigning CECAFA champions Uganda to ponder about the newly released FIFA rankings.
Having collected 75.68 points from their goalless friendly match draw away in Gaborone with Botswana, Uganda managed 401 points and remained 88th, a point behind Jordan (87th). Dimitar Brbatov’s Bulgaria are 89th with 388.
In Africa, Uganda is 23rd, ahead of Malawi who denied the Cranes a friendly match last month. Malawi have 385 points and are 90th in the world. Zambia, the reigning Afcon champions and the Cranes’ opponents in the 2013 edition qualifiers this weekend moved two places to 42nd position in the world.
They are eighth in Africa with 624 points while Ivory Coast, the first runners-up tallied 912 to top th continent’s charts.
Ivory Coast is 16th whereas European and world cup title holders Spain, the Red Fury remained top with 1617 points.
