
Uganda’s top tennis player Duncan Mugabe, missed out at this year’s summer Olympic games in London has vowed to be ready for the next edition in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro.
“I have been working on my power, serve and all round game and I am getting better and better as the days go by,” Mugabe said. “I working hard to be ready for the next Olympic games which will be my first. I was disappointed that I couldn’t make this year’s edition.”
Mugabe is currently in the United States attending a tennis development programme in California where he has played three Challenger tennis tournaments and is looking forward for more tournaments to enable try and get himself playing on the men’s tennis tour.
“I have been playing a number of tournaments here and my game is improving with the coaching and exercise that I have been going through,” Mugabe stressed. “I would love to play on the tour, but its not an easy task cause their so many good players around and you need to play them to reach that goal.”
The Ugandan tennis ace is a 2011 All Africa games men’s bronze medallist.
