
Local top seed David Oringa made a losing debut on hard court when he fell to Zambian Edgar Kazembe 6-0,6-2 in the Simba Cement Tanzania Open International tennis championship in Dar es Salaam,Tanzania last week.
“It was a tough final for me since I was making my debut on such a surface however am glad I reached this far,” Oringa said. “This feat has given me confidence and I want build on it.”
It was Lugogo based player’s third tournament in the year thus making a driving force local and in this region.
However he consoled himself by team up with his conqueror by claiming the men’s doubles and walking away with a total of US $ 1,250.
Oringa earlier this year won the Castle Lite Uganda Open at Lugogo Tennis Center beating hard fighting Rwandan player Mathieu Uwizeyimana 7-5,6-4 to win the grandest prize on the local tennis calendar.
