Tornado Cricket Club are unphased in this year’s women’s T20 Mehta Premier League. They have amassed 19 points from their four outings and cannot afford to step off the gas when they play Wanderers at the University oval in Kyambogo today.
“We need the best results and will put out our best
effort.” skipper Concy Aweko, who picked figures of 2/9 last weekend against Charity, told Kawowo Sports. But third placed side Wanderers (9) who last played six weeks back will have nothing to leave for level pegging.
“They are on a winning streak (Tornado),” said Mary Nanderenga. “We’ll put up a good display and nothing will stop us.” Although some players have tight work schedules, Wanderers will be boosted by the return of Naomi Kayondo from Tanzania.
Elsewhere, title holders Charity Trust Fund will hope to pick up the pieces against hosts Gayaza following their five wicket loss last weekend. Gayaza is yet to win a game.
