The city authority club has been active in the market and all signs and symptoms at Lugogo just indicate a side ready to challenge for the championship. In addition to the transfer activity, George Best Nsimbe, the last coach to win the league title for the club is also back at Lugogo.
Following a season (2011/12) that had KCC FC lack a reliable goal getter, the club has lured Tony Odur and Yuda Mugalu to Lugogo to boast their power upfront. The two are proven goal scorers unlike the on and off Andrew Ssekayombya, Eddie Mubiru, Ceaser Sapeo and Siraje Turyamuhebwa which the side relied on for goals last season. With confirmation that former star Brian Umony has been added to the strike force, George Nsimbe’s side may yet again possess the most feared striking line in the league come next season.
The club lost reliable defender Israel Emuge to new boys Kiira Young FC and I guess he will solely missed but the capture of Ronnie Kisekka from Proline FC and former SC Villa skipper Tony Ndolo offers reliable replacements.
The midfield remained intact with Jimmy Kakooza Kacanga and Ivan Ntege expected to remain key men for the side but Alex Tuliraba a new acquisition from Maroons FC is another option.
With a squad that includes the likes of talented players like Odur, Brian Majwega, Micheal Birungi, Yuda Mugalu and Tony Ndolo, expect KCC FC to challenge for honours this side but one aspect the authorities at the club must consider is giving Nsimbe enough time to do his job without interference.
One to Watch: Yuda Mugalu
The former Victors FC striker is one of the few strikers in the league that is close to complete. He is lethal in front of goal, tireless, powerful and on top of that, he has pace. He reunites with his former coach at Victors FC and the two had he a good relationship. He is expected to be the main man for the Lugogo based side up front and in case his partnership with Odur clicks well, expect goals to flow.
