
Uganda Swimming Federation will need to dig deep to find $7,000(Sh17.4m) to participate at the 11 edition of the FINA World Swimming Championships in Istanbul,Turkey.
“The federation need approxiamately $7,000 to participate at the World Swimming Championship,” Peter Mugisha, the federation’s secretary said. “We are looking for the funds from various sources and cooperate companies that have supported our activities.”
Uganda’s team made of junior swimmers will be led by Olympian Jamila Lunkuse,Catherine Noble,Joshua Ejilikubinza and national coach Muzafaru Muwanguzi.
Noble and Ejilikubinza will be making their debut at this international swimming championship while Lunkuse will be making her fourth appearance at the event having participated in the last three various editions in Rome,Dubai and Shangai.
The swimmers will all compete in 50 meter freestyle and 50 meter Breastroke.
