Sharrif Bogere

North American Boxing Organisation lightweight champion Sharif “The Lion” Bogere is breathing with alot of confidence ahead of his World Boxing Association title fight with Cuban Richard Abril on November 3 in Las Vegas,Nevada.

“Bring on the belt,Bring on everybody I wanna fight all the best in the 135 pound division,” Bogere told boxing reporter Elie Seckbach. Asked which fighters he would like to fight after his fight with Abril. “It would be good to clash with WBC lightweight champion Mexican Antonio DeMarco and also Brandon Rios and the rest.” DeMarco will on November 17 defend his title against Bogere’s stable-mate Adrien Broner, who is one of the hottest properties in this competitive division is also undefeated like the Ugandan hot-shot.

Bogere, goes into his fight with one mission of becoming the sixth Ugandan boxer to acclaim a world title in doing so he will join a class of boxing legends that include John “The Beast” Mugabi, who is now based in Australia others include Ayub Kalule,who is back in Kampala, Cornelius Boza Edwards, who is a matchmaker in the USA, Kassim “The Dream”Ouma, who is now in California and Jackson “Action” Asiku, who is based in Australia. Incidently all the six boxers have been moulded and developed their art of boxing at the oldest boxing gym in Uganda, Kampala Boxing Club.

Bogere’s last three fights have not gone beyond round four and has won his last six fights in impressive fashion he goes into the title fight with a record of (23-0,15 KO) while his opponent is(17-3-1,8 KO).
