
Uganda Squash Rackets Association chairman John Bosco Tamwesigire was a 2-1 winner over Andrew Lutaaya to start his reign at the helm of his office in the Independence squash tournament that was held at Kampala Club on Sunday.
Tamwesigire, beat his opponent in a best of three series with a 9-3,2-9,9-2 scoreline.
It was
the new squash racket boss’s first major event since taking office recently as his executive looks forward to several tournaments in the coming future.
In the men’s doubles Oskar Semweya Musoke teamed up with national squash coach Simon Kajubu to beat Tamwesigire and Mande Aliho 3-1.
The Plate final was won by Robert Isabalija who beat Simal Omor 3-1 to claim the title. The tournament was organised by the club to celebrate Uganda’s 50 year’s of Independence.
