Moses basena

Former Simba coach Moses Basena has disclosed that he is still battling with his previous employers Simba SC of Tanzania to pay him his money worthy USH180,000,000 after terminating his contract last year.

News reaching Kawowo sports desk is that Moses Basena lodged in an appeal to the Confederation of African Football demanding for$72,000 in compensation. The Mainland champions terminated

the Ugandan’s two-year contract after only seven months after Simba lost 1-0 to their bitter rivals Young Africans a year ago.

Basena replaced Sam Ssimbwa in the Express ranks, after Sam had joined big money spenders Victoria University in their first season in the Super League.

Basena is believed to have signed a three year contract with Express FC but Simba SC claim that the door is wide open for him to come back in the ranks but only coaching the reserve team or the up coming women’s team.

All these issues came when Moses Basena failed to hand in his coaching documents to the Tanzanian Football Federation so as he would be handed a coaching licence in Tanzania.

The club’s Information Officer Ezekiel Kamwaga said that Simba did not sack the former Uganda Cranes Assistant Coach instead, he said Basena failed to comply with the requirements to submit his coaching certificates as required by the Tanzanian Football Federation

“Basena went to self exile, we never sacked him. We told him to submit his coaching certificates so that he could get TFF’s coaching licence and working permit in the country but he never submitted any,” said Kamwaga.
