Land has always been an issue with in Uganda and we have seen land being grabbed with in different parts of the Country and bloodshed in certain areas.
Unfortunately the biggest stadium with in Uganda Mandela National Stadium has no land title. And rumour has it that Mandela National Stadium was sold off the claims the State Minister for Sports Hon Charles Bakkabulindi says aren’t true.
Being hosted on UBC and Magic radio sports program he admitted that Mandela National Stadium has no Land title and they are still working with the Uganda Lands Commission to process a new one.
Bakkabulindi said in response to the rumour that Namboole was sold said, “There is no stadium in the Country that has been sold neither Nakivubo nor Namboole.”
Namboole National stadium was opened in 1997, has a capacity of 45,202 and was built with a grant from the People’s Republic of China.
