Nkumba University ladies Handball team is the second Ugandan Handball Club to safely arrive in the Kenyan Capital, Nairobi for the 24th East and Central Handball Championships at Nyayo Indoor Stadium. The 13 man team led by Coach Issa Assimwe has immedaitely vowed to give the participating teams a good run for their money. “We are here for business, we did not travel all the way to Nairobi for touring”, Vowed Issa. Nkumba ladies team joins Prisons (men) who arrived in Nairobi on Sunday evening.
Others are Rwanda Police (men- also travelling to Morocco for Africa Club Championship), Ethiopia Police (men and women), Tanzania’s Magereza (men and women), Ngome (women), JKT (men and women), Dodoma (women). Other teams are Prisons and Nkumba University Tonardos (Uganda), Cereals Board (men and women), Nairobi Water (women), Strathmore University (men), St. John’s sport community (women), Kenyatta University (men), Black Mamba (men) and Kenya Polytechnic (Kenya).
Kenya National Cereals and Produce Board who are champions in both categories (men and women) will be defending their titles they won last year in Dar es Salaam.
