University League: UMU 0-6 Kyambogo University.

Two quick braces from Moses Goloba and Alex Makowe boosted Kyambogo University to a sounding 6-0 victory over struggling boys Uganda Martyr’s University in a thrilling super six University league encounter played at Nkozi ground.

Kyambogo opened the floodgates with a six minute goal from Moses Goloba after goal keeper Martin Sserwago made a mistake of failing to handle a simple ball.

From here on wards it was disaster for Nkozi as Moses Goloba netted his second for the day. Alex Makowe also scoring a brace to worsen the situation for Nkozi and midfield general Isamail Eedu  also appeared on the score sheet taking his tally to 4 goals in 7 matches.

Half time ended 5-0 in favour of the Buffaloes. As always and it will be for Nkozi as they tried as much as possible in the second half piling a lot of pressure on to Kyambogo and Alfred Mugarua and Jonathan Kalogo getting a couple of shots and making numerous attacks couldn’t help the team as they looked weak in the first half and conceded 5 goals and the question everybody was asking was where they had kept that play they displayed in the second half.

They only came to entertain the crowds and forgot the back where striker Hebert Galiwango caught them on the break and buried their hopes of even getting a consolation goal and for Kyambogo it was a brilliant evening  as they won the game convincingly.

The result helps Kyambogo narrow the gap between Makerere with only two points as they do wait for the final verdict on their two abandoned matches between Nkumba and Makerere University.

Action resumes today as Kampala International University will be hosting Makerere University Business School which thrashed them in the first fixture 5-0.
