Cranes coach Bobby Williamson has finally summoned Gor Mahia wonder boy, Daniel Sserunkuma ahead of the CECAFA senior challenge cup that starts late November in Kampala. The former Express and Victors striker is scoring for fun in the Kenya premier league, currently on 17 goals and on the verge of landing the league for his side after almost 2 decades.

The striker will have to fight for a place on the final squad with Hamis Kiiza, Brian Umony, Emma Okwi, Robert Ssentogo and Joseph Mpande as the Scot is likely to use four strikers. “He is not finally there, but will have to fight his way till the end, because even these other five strikers have good returns in their respective clubs,” Bobby said.

“Daniel is a good striker that I have seen on TV but would love to monitor him closely maybe he can make the team,” he added. Swedish based Martin Mutumba is another inclusion despite having Europa engagements with his club around the time of the tournament.

“Am hopefully his side can release him around this time but I have included him because I have never lost faith in Martin he deserves a second chance,” Bobby said. Bobby insisted that the squad is subject to change depending on how other available players are performing in their respective club.

Geoffrey Walusimbi will captain the side and will assisted by Abel Dhaira as they lead a contingent of 30 players that starts residential training on Saturday.
