Penninah Katusabe was a 11-1,11-0,11-6 winner over Martha Namuwaya while National Badminton player Daisy Nakalyango crushed Cissy Adong 11-1,11-8,11-8. Joan Namunina overcame Sandra Nakyeyune 11 – 6 , 11 – 3 , 6 – 11 , 11 – 9 Daphyne Kamirungi overrun Aisha Nakiyemba 11 -5 ,11 -4 ,11-5.
Edith Wamalwa is the ladies defending champion and is poised to retain her crown come Saturday.
Nile Breweries under their popular brand Castle Lite have sunk 16 million into the event that has attracted over 80 players with the tournament. The tournament has main draw and a 35-39 category together with a 50 plus for men.
