Following their classic display on the opening day of the 24th East and Central African Handball championships in Nairobi, Uganda”s representative in the men’s catergory, Prisons succumbed to a 26-25 loss at the hands of the tournament’s defending champions, Cereal Board at Nyayo Stadium.
The loss according to head coach, Oyene Benard was attributed to careless defending. ” The boys relaxed and we were punished”, Benard said shortly after the game.
Uganda’s other representatives, Nkumba University, who lost their opening day fixture DRC’s Heritage Club (56-28) return to the fold on Thursday in a must win encounter against Kenya’s Nairobi Water.
Prisons play their last fixture against Black Mamba from Democratic Republic Of Congo.
